All Tift County elementary schools use the Tift County Balanced Literacy Framework in grades K-5. This framework includes word study and phonics, read-alouds, reading mini-lessons, shared reading, and guided reading, as well as work stations and transitions. It also includes writing components such as shared, interactive, and independent writing lessons. Teachers use Benchmark Literacy and Lucy Calkins' units of study to support instruction in the classroom.
The Tift County school system uses Eureka Math in grades K-5. Eureka Math connects math to the real world in ways that take the fear out of math and that build student confidence.
